Fashion meet and greet. Banzo, the Mexican fashion house, just announced its upcoming pop-up in New York City, Sept 19th through 21st at 168 Ludlow Street.

Banzo is a non-binary, high-fashion, upcycling design house based in Mexico City with presence in Tokyo, Paris, and Manhattan.

Vogue-featured designer and Banzo’s creator, Camila Banzo (29 y.o.), is visiting NYC with her luggage full of freshly designed new pieces. She will be at the pop-up to meet passersby.

The pop-up announcement comes only a few days after the release of the brand’s long-awaited new era. Banzo launched its fall 2025 collection titled “What contains me” with an absolutely packed-house show and a cinematic runway in Mexico City.

Banzo has had a strong presence in New York for a few years. Apart from a pop-up at the Lower East Side vintage fashion store Ending Soon last year, Banzo has had a long-standing presence in Tumbao, another LES boutique specializing in featuring up-and-coming Latin American designers.

The CDMX-based brand is best known for its gorget-neck shirts, double shirt-skirts, detached sleeves tied up by spaghetti straps, and extra-buttoned blazers with large neck bows.

“What contains me” brings a new twist to many of those classic elements.

Another outstanding peculiarity of Banzo, a result of its upcycling core method, is that all pieces are either one of a kind or made from scratch by hand.

The announcement of the upcoming happening brings up many questions. Does the promptness of this NYC visit mean classic Banzo pieces will also be available at the pop-up, or is the core collection opening space for the new Banzo? And if so, what will we see at Tumbao next?

A source close to the designer affirmed that Banzo will soon be looking for interns to recruit.

Check back for an interview with Camila Banzo.
